Steps Taken to Date in Ratifying the CRPD

As of January 2013, the following actions have taken place in the ratification process for the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD): 2002–2006 ― The convention text was negotiated during eight sessions of an Ad Hoc Committee of the UN General Assembly. The United States observed and/or participated in these sessions. December 13, 2006 ― CRPD was adopted as General Assembly Resolution 66/229. The George W.
