Protect Our Defenders educates the public and policymakers on sexual violence in the military. Its mission is to help ensure that survivors of rape and sexual assault in the military receive justice and appropriate medical support and that perpetrators are held accountable. Nancy Parrish was the founding cochair of Human Rights Watch. She has also worked with President Jimmy Carter and Rosalyn Carter in support of their humanitarian work at the Carter Center.
