On September 12, the head of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Scott Gottlieb, announced that the agency is considering intensifying its crackdown on e-cigarettes in light of what he termed an “epidemic” of teen use. The statement explained that the FDA is evaluating possible solutions to the problem, including banning or curtailing access to, or marketing of, flavored e-ciga­rette products.
