Representative Poe, of the Second District of Texas, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2004. He was an Assistant District Attorney from 1973 to 1981 and a Harris County (Texas) Judge from 1981 to 2003. He sits on the Foreign Affairs Committee, where he is Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, and on the Judiciary Committee.
