IAM is an AFL-CIO trade union representing workers in more than 200 industries. R. Thomas Buffenbarger has served as International President of IAM since 1997. As such, he is a member of the AFL-CIO Executive Council and Vice President of the International Metalworkers Federation’s Executive Committee.
