Insider Trading Bill
The Senate and House have both passed the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act, but must now resolve differences between the two versions. The legislation would prevent lawmakers and their aides from buying or selling stock and other securities based on confidential information acquired during the conduct of their legislative duties. It clarifies that Securities and Exchange prohibitions on insider trading extend to lawmakers, staffers, and Executive Branch employees.
