Honorable Carl Levin

Senator Levin was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1978. He was a member of the Detroit City Council from 1969 to 1977, and President of the City Council from 1973 to 1977. He chairs the Armed Services Committee and the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. He also sits on the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship and is an ex officio member of the Select Committee on Intelligence.
