As General Counsel , Lawrence J. Morris is responsible for the team that provides legal advice to the Catholic University leadership and staff. Before joining the university in 2011, he served for 27 years in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the Army, retiring as a colonel. His assignments included Criminal Law Department Chair at the Army’s law school; General Counsel at the U.S. Military Academy; Chief Public Defender, U.S. Army; Chief Prosecutor, Office of Military Commissions; and deployments to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iraq.
