E-Cigarette Packaging
On January 11, the House of Representatives passed, by voice vote, S. 142, the Child Nicotine Poisoning Prevention Act, sponsored by Senator Bill Nelson (FL-D). The bill, which the Senate approved in December, would require that the liquid nicotine used in the devices be packaged in child-resistant containers. Specifically, the measure would require liquid nicotine containers sold in the United States to be packaged in accordance with the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s child-resistant standards.
