Fuel Efficiency Standards
The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) has released new rules aimed at loosening environmental standards and lowering the price of new cars. The new guidelines would significantly decrease existing fuel efficiency standards established by the Obama Administration. Currently, new cars are required to achieve at least 50 miles per gallon by the year 2025. If the new rule takes effect, the fuel efficiency standard would be frozen at 35 miles per gallon until 2026.
