Senator Mondale served in the U.S. Senate from 1964 to 1976. He served as Minnesota’s Attorney General from 1960 to 1962. He was Vice President of the United States from 1977 to 1981 and the U.S. Ambassador to Japan from 1993 to 1996. The following is from a March 17, 1972, Congressional Record statement on H. J.
