Federal Data Privacy
On February 27, 2019, the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee held a hearing on “Policy Principles for a Federal Data Privacy Framework in the United States.” The aim of the hearing was to look at Congress’s goals in terms of data privacy for the country. The Commerce Committee oversees the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which enforces consumer privacy.
