The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, founded in 1950, is a coalition of more than 200 national organizations that promotes civil rights through advocacy and outreach to targeted constituencies. Gupta previously served as head of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division from 2014 until January 2017. Prior to joining the Justice Department, Gupta served as Deputy Legal Director at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
