Honorable Muriel Bowser

Mayor Bowser was elected as the mayor of Washington, D.C., in 2014. In 2018, she became the first woman to be reelected as the district’s mayor. She was previously a member of the city council, representing Ward 4. As mayor, she led the 2016 voter referendum on D.C. statehood, which received approval from more than 86% of voters.
