Congressman Gibbons, of the Second District of Nevada, was first elected to the US House of Representatives in 1996. He served with the Nevada Air National Guard from 1975 to 1995, and as a member of the Nevada State Assembly from 1988 until 1994, except for a four-month period in 1991 when he was on active duty in the Persian Gulf War.
