Representative Conyers, of the Fourteenth District of Michigan, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1964. He was a Legislative Assistant to Representative John Dingell (MI-D) from 1958 to 1961 and a Referee for the Michigan Workmen’s Compensation Department from 1961 to 1963. He is the Ranking Minority Member of the Judiciary Committee.
