Dr. Mitchell has taught at the University of Tennessee, Carson-Newman College, and Truett-McConnell College, in addition to his current position at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBC). He also serves as Director of the Clarence Jordan Center at SBC and Editor of Ethics & Medicine: An International Perspective on Bioethics. He holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Tennessee.
