Recent Action on Head Start
The Federal Head Start program is scheduled for reauthorization in 2003. The last reauthorization, in 1998, contained a shift in emphasis from expanding enrollment to boosting services, professional development opportunities for Head Start teachers, and increased training and technical assistance.
