Ted Danson, Founding President
American Oceans Campaign is a nonprofit environmental organization founded by actor and ocean activist Ted Danson in 1987. The organization’s activities range from promoting sustainable, ocean-friendly fishing practices to protecting the public from polluted beach water. In 2001, AOC merged with Oceana, a broad-based advocacy organization dedicated exclusively to protecting the world’s oceans. Ted Danson has produced and starred in numerous films and television shows and is well known for his role as Sam Malone in the television series "Cheers," for which he won two Emmy Awards.
