The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) sets the minimum wage most employers must pay their employees and the maximum hours — 40 hours per week — most employees can work without receiving extra, overtime premium pay. The largest group of workers exempt from the FLSA are those classified as executives, administrators, or professionals.
