Senator Craig was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1990. He served in the Idaho Senate from 1974 to 1980 and in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1980 to 1990. He chairs the Veterans Committee and is a member of the Appropriations Committee; the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, where he chairs the Subcommittee on Public Lands and Forests; and the Special Committee on Aging.
