Recent Action on Lobbying Reform
The 109th Congress is considering legislation that, if enacted, would represent the first major changes to congressional lobbying rules in decades.Senate Action. On February 28, 2006, the Senate Rules and Administration Committee reported S. 2349, the Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act, which would amend Senate rules to enhance disclosure of earmarked spending on appropriations bills as well as restrict meals and travel that Members accept from lobbyists.
