Representative Ferguson, of the Seventh District of New Jersey, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000. He was a high school teacher from 1992 to 1993, Director of the Better Schools Foundation in 1994 and Save Our Schoolchildren in 1995, Executive Director of Catholic Campaign for America from 1995 to 1997, and an adjunct professor at Brookdale Community College from 1997 to 2000.
