Representative Biggert, of the Thirteenth District of Illinois, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1998. She served on the Hinsdale (Illinois) Board of Education from 1982 to 1985 and in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1992 to 1998. She sits on the Financial Services Committee, where she is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit.
