Representative Maloney, of the Fourteenth District of New York, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1992. She served on the New York City Board of Education from 1970 to 1977, as a legislative aide in the New York Assembly and in the Senate from 1977 to 1982, and on the New York City Council from 1982 to 1992.
