House Republicans have targeted four programs that the Obama Administration says are critical to the recovery of the housing market. On March 10, by a vote of 256 to 171, the House passed H.R. 830, to terminate the Federal Housing Administration Refinance Program, designed to help homeowners who owe more than their homes are worth refinance the loans.
