Olson, Solicitor GeneralThe United States is an amicus in this case because of the U.S. Justice Department’s role in enforcing the Hobbs Act and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). Although the United States supports the Petitioners’ view of the Hobbs Act, it does not support their contention that a court can order injunctions in civil RICO cases. Theodore B.
