Representative Stearns, of the Fifth District of Florida, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1988. Since 1972, he has served as President of Stearns House Inc. He is a member of the Commerce Committee, within which he chairs the Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection Subcommittee.
