Millions of low-income children in the United States benefit from Federal nutrition programs. These include the School Lunch, School Breakfast, and other programs that provide free or reduced-price meals and snacks for students, and WIC, the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, which helps pregnant and nursing mothers and children in their first years.
