Abatement –  Refers to reducing the degree or intensity of greenhouse gas emissions.   Adaptation – Adjustment in natural or human systems in response to actual or expected climatic stimuli or their effects, which moderates harm or exploits beneficial opportunities.   Adaptation Fund – The Adaptation Fund was established to finance concrete adaptation projects and programs in developing countries that are parties to the Kyoto Protocol.
