Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is an international treaty that resulted from the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in 1992. The parties to the convention meet annually to assess progress in dealing with climate change. Ban Ki-moon became UN Secretary General on January 1, 2007. Prior to that, he was foreign minister of the Republic of Korea.
