Recent Action in Congress
Congress began holding hearings as far back as 1983 on the limitations on the ability of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to regulate chemicals under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), enacted in 1976. In addition, the Government Accountability Office has released several reports over the past two decades pointing out the need to revisit and improve the Act.
