Revised Travel Ban
On March 6, President Trump signed a new Executive order to replace the January 27 immigration travel ban that sparked protests across the country, left many travelers stranded, and then was blocked by Federal appeals courts. The new order, scheduled to go into effect at midnight on March 16, was crafted to address the legal objections that halted the original version. It restricts entry into the United States by nationals from six predominantly Muslim countries, removing Iraq from the original list. It exempts permanent residents and current visa holders.
