Julie Underwood, General Counsel Founded in 1940, the National School Boards Association represents the Nation’s 97,000 school board members, who govern 15,000 local school districts that serve more than 40 million public school students. Ms. Underwood is the former Dean of the School of Education and Allied Professions at Miami University in Ohio. She was also a faculty member of the Department of Educational Administration and the School of Law at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1986 to 1995.
