The Innocence Project, founded in 1992 by Barry Scheck and Peter Neufeld, provides pro bono legal assistance to inmates who are challenging their convictions based on DNA testing of evidence, though clients must obtain funding for testing. In addition to cochairing the Innocence Project, Barry C. Scheck is a professor of law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and at Yeshiva University.
