On November 29, 2015, Terance Martez Gamble was pulled over by Mobile, Alabama, police for driving a car with a broken headlight. During a search following the stop, the officer discovered two baggies of marijuana, a scale, and a handgun. Because Gamble had a prior felony conviction, he was charged by Alabama with a drug offense and for being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was ultimately found guilty and sentenced to one year in prison, but while that State case was proceeding, the U.S. Government also charged him with violating a similar Federal gun law.
