If you are between the ages of 15 and 34, you are morelikely to die in an alcohol-related crash than from any other single cause.Although tougher laws and greater enforcement have resulted in a drop in DWI[driving while intoxicated] deaths over the last 10 years, New Mexico’s rate ofimpaired driving deaths still tops the list nationally. To continuereducing DWI related deaths, the State’s Traffic Safety Bureau has launched astatewide program of sobriety checkpoints called Operation DWI.
