Olson, Solicitor GeneralThe United States is an amicus curiae in this case because the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Department of Justice are responsible for promulgating and enforcing regulations implementing the Americans With Disabilities Act. Theodore B. Olson was nominated to be Solicitor General by President George W. Bush on February 14, 2001, and confirmed by the Senate on May 24.
