Senator Lautenberg was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1982. In 1952, he co-founded Automatic Data Processing, the Nation’s first payroll services company, developing it into the lar-gest computer services company in the world. He served on the New York and New Jersey Port Authority Commission from 1978 to 1982. He is a member of the Appropriations Committee, the Budget Committee, the Environment and Public Works Committee, and the Intelligence Committee.
