When the drug company Pfizer agreed to locate a $300 million research facility in New London in 1998, the City began plans to redevelop the nearby neighborhood of Fort Trumbull, improving infrastructure, creating a waterfront park, and attracting office space, high-end condominiums, and a luxury hotel.
