Senator Barrasso was appointed to the U.S. Senate in 2008 and won a special election in 2008. He served in the Wyoming Senate from 2003 to 2007. He chairs the Environment and Public Works Committee and sits on the following committees: Energy and Natural Resources, where he chairs the Subcommittee on Public Lands and Forests; Indian Affairs; and Foreign Relations.
