Bertel Haarder is Denmark’s Minister for Refugees, Immigration, and Integration Affairs and was President-in-Office and Minister for European Affairs during Denmark’s six-month presidency of the European Council for the second half of 2002. Prior to that, he served as a member of the European Parliament and as the Danish Minister for Education and Research.
