U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is an agency within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Its mission is to safeguard U.S. borders while facilitating lawful international travel and trade. John Wagner assumed his role at CBP on April 6, 2014. He led the deployment of the Global Entry program and the Automated Passport Control kiosks for international travelers. The following is his testimony from the Feb. 6, 2020, hearing titled, “About Face: Examining the Department of Homeland Security’s Use of Facial Recognition and Other Biometric Technologies, Part II,” held before the House Committee on Homeland Security.
