Student Financial Aid Terms

Campus-based Aid — Financial aid funds provided to a college from the government. Each college determines financial aid applicants’ eligibility to receive the funding. Consolidation Loan — A consolidation loan combines several student loans into one bigger loan from a single lender. The primary intention is to replace multiple loans with a single new loan to simplify repayment. Cost of Attendance (COA) — The total amount it should cost the student to go to school.
