Missouri's Contribution Limits Do Not Violate the First Amendment
This case was granted certiorari on January 25, 1999, and reversed on January 24, 2000. In a 6-to-3 decision, the Court ruled that Missouri’s campaign contribution limits for statewide office, which exceed the limits set forth by the Court in Buckley v. Valeo (1976), do not violate the First Amendment.
