Representative Barr, of the Seventh District of Georgia, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1994. He was a U.S. Attorney for the North Georgia District from 1986 to 1990, and Director of the Southeast Legal Foundation from 1990 to 1992. He serves on the Banking and Financial Services Committee, the Judiciary Committee, and the Government Reform Committee, where he is Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Criminal Justice, Drug Policy and Human Resources.
