Representative Vento, of the Fourth District of Minnesota, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1976. He served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1970 to 1976, where he was Assistant Majority Leader from 1974 to 1976. He is a member of the Banking and Financial Services Committee and the Ranking Minority Member of the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee within that committee.
