Representative Dent, of the Fifteenth District of Pennsylvania, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2004. He served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1990 to 1998 and in the Pennsylvania Senate from 1998 to 2004. He is a member of the Homeland Security Committee, where he is the Ranking Minority Member of the Subcommittee on Transportation Security and Infrastructure Protection.
