Recent Action by Congress on the President‘s Executive Order
On January 27, 2017, President Donald Trump signed an Executive order imposing a 90-day ban on the entry into the United States of nationals from seven predominantly Muslim countries: Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. It also suspended the U.S. refugee admissions program for 120 days and placed an inde nite ban on refugees from Syria. Green card holders were initially denied entry, but were later allowed in.
