Results of FDA/Customs "Blitzes"

A recent series of spot examinations of mail shipments of foreign drugs to U.S. consumers conducted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (BCBP) revealed that these shipments often contain dangerous unapproved or counterfeit drugs that pose potentially serious safety problems. This joint operation was carried out to help FDA and CBP target, identify, and stop counterfeit and potentially unsafe drugs from entering the United States from foreign countries via mail and common carriers.
